Spa Therapist Foundation
Theory, anatomy, hygiene and client care for new therapists — the classroom half of a therapist qualification, online.
Every therapist qualification has two halves: hands-on practice, which must be taught in a room with a tutor, and theory — anatomy, contra-indications, hygiene, consultation — which is far better learned online at your own pace. This course is the second half, done properly, so your practical hours count for more.

School leavers, career changers and salon staff moving into spa; employers onboarding new hires.

- Anatomy & physiology for touch therapies
- Massage theory: Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone

What you leave with
Foundation certificate plus a practical-hours log you complete with an employer or partner school.
How practical hours work
You complete a logbook of supervised practical hours with an employer, a partner school, or a senior therapist we approve. The logbook and your online results together form the Foundation certificate. Employers use the course to onboard new hires; partner schools use it to replace their classroom theory.
Content
Six modules: anatomy and physiology for touch therapies; massage theory (Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone); facial theory and skin analysis; body wraps and hydrotherapy; contra-indications, consultation and consent; professional conduct and the structure of a spa day.

Questions
Does this make me a licensed massage therapist?
No. Licensing is national or state-level and requires practical hours and often an exam. This course covers the theory that licence exams also test.
Is it available in Hindi?
Lecture transcripts are available in Hindi for the India cohort; the assessments are in English.
