About the Institute
Founded in Singapore in 2005 for spa owners and managers in Southeast Asia, the Institute of Spa Management now teaches online worldwide as the education arm of the SpasWorldwide network. What we are, and what we are not.
The Institute of Spa Management was set up in Singapore in 2005, when the region's spa industry was growing faster than anyone could train managers for it, and ran management masterclasses for owners and managers across Singapore, Malaysia and neighbouring markets. This site was rebuilt in 2026 as the education arm of the SpasWorldwide network, with the courses moved fully online.
What we are
A professional-education institute for the people who run spas, med spas, salons and retreats. Ten courses, eight masterclasses, the CSM-ISM credential with a public register, and corporate programmes for groups. Faculty are practitioners; assignments are real documents for real spas.
What we are not
Not a university, college or government-accredited school. Our certificates are professional credentials co-badged by industry associations, not academic awards, and no country's licensing of therapists or premises is replaced by them. We publish figures only with a named source and date, and we do not publish testimonials we cannot verify.
The network
The Institute sits inside a network of 55 spa and salon sites in 31 countries, anchored by SpasWorldwide.com. It gives graduates something a standalone school cannot: visibility to employers on the listing engines, association discounts, an awards programme and a jobs board. See the network.
