Salon Management

Chair rental vs employed, column optimisation, retail, stylists' pay and salon marketing.

Salon management course is searched about 210 times a month in India and 70 in the UK — small numbers for a trade with millions of workers, which tells you how little formal training salon managers get. Ten weeks covers the business of a salon: chair rental versus employed staff, columns and rebooking, stylist pay, retail, marketing and compliance.

Who it is for

Senior stylists becoming managers, salon owners, franchise managers.

Modules

  1. Salon business models & chair rental
  2. Column management and rebooking
  3. Stylist pay, commission and retention
  4. Retail and professional product houses
  5. Salon marketing & reviews
  6. Hygiene, licensing and safety

What you leave with

Salon Management certificate and a salon KPI dashboard template.

Salon economics

The core of the course is a KPI dashboard: utilisation per column, rebooking rate, average ticket, retail as a percentage of service, and stylist pay as a percentage of their own column revenue. You build it for your own salon in week two and improve the numbers over the remaining eight.

Delivery

Six modules, four live sessions, one assignment per module and a final salon improvement plan. Members of the Salon Association of India receive a discount; graduates can join SalonsWorldwide.com and Salons.Directory programmes.
